If you know me, you probably know that I like cooking meals ahead of time and then using my FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer to store them in the freezer. I used to just use plastic bags, but sometimes the food would get freezer burnt if I didn't use it right away. The Foodsaver really helps food to last longer in the freezer. And, it can save you money. To me, however, it's also about saving time. I like having food that just needs to be defrosted and reheated. It's great on days you just don't feel like starting from scratch.
Anyway, Amazon offered me this Black and Decker slow cooker in exchange for a review (it's a program that they choose customers - no one can ask to join). So, this came up on my list and since my crockpot is getting pretty beat up, I decided to get this one. It is 7 quart, and much bigger than my older one. So, I went yesterday and bought 7 1/2 pounds of chicken tenders and I am ready to test it out!
I am using a new recipe, so I really hope that we like it because that's a LOT of chicken!
I actually am not following the recipe exactly, but I did get inspiration from another recipe.
Here is what I did:
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon ginger (ground dry)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 T molasses
2 T Truvia
Mix all the ingredients above and put in bottom of crockpot.
Add chicken and mix around until they are all covered a bit.
Add 1 can (about 2 cups) of chicken broth.
That's it! Can't wait till dinner time!
