My shopping haul at Dollar General this morning!

Dollar General's "Extra 50% off Clearance Event" started today and I was at our local store at exactly 8 am!  I was really hoping to find the Reynold's Aluminum Foil that is clearanced, but no luck.  I did do very well though!



I spent $11.97 at my local store  - this is after coupons including a $3 off $15 survey coupon.  I used the coupons within the limits printed on them.  The Shea Moisture coupons were from gift sets I purchased after Christmas and had no limit indicated.

The Gold Bond Powder shown was marked on the shelf, but rang full price.  I believe it's the green bottle that should be clearance.  All coupons came off with no problem except for the $3 off 2 Dove.  That coupon was put in manually.

The Loreal Hair Expert coupon is worded weird, but shows the shampoo right on the coupon.  It says "hairstyle" product.  It did work just fine though.

I'm not sure how many stores I will go to as it's a bit icy out there this morning.  I am hoping be the first customer at my local store, though.  I don't have a lot of coupons, but I do have a few for the items that I want.

Remember to check your receipts to see if you got the survey on it that rewards you with a $3 off $15 coupon!  This will pair well with the clearance event!

Coupon matchups for the Extra 50% off Clearance Event at Dollar General Feb 10-12.

You have today and tomorrow to get your coupons printed, clipped, and organized!  These extra 50% off clearance events usually even get me a little more organized!  I know, I know ... the sale is through Sunday ... but if you want the BEST deals, you need to go as soon as possible as others will be shopping too!

How to get ready:
I recommend that you visit  your local store and look for clearance stickers on regular shelves and in the "last chance" aisle.  I like to suggest this to get a feel for what you are looking for ... but remember that it will most likely vary by store for availability of certain items.  If you can't get to the store, but want a visual of some of the clearance items, you can see some on Instagram under my hashtag #pennypuss.

New Pennies at Dollar General Today!

Well, we guessed right!  I know that we said that there were no "scheduled" pennies, but that is how Dollar General seems to be operating with their clearance now.  They are surprise pennies most of the time.  So, when we said, "you might want to check holiday and Christmas" ... we were right on the mark!

It will most likely include the items that have been ringing up as a quarter in the past couple weeks, but sometimes DG messes with us.

If you have the the PennyPussAPP, the Christmas items are in the blue 25¢ category.  I am not shopping and working to move them over to reflect a penny.  But those are the items that you are looking for.

Christmas and Holiday previously ringing a quarter should be a penny today, Feb 7, 2017.

Christmas blankets are NOT a penny.
Pinecone LED lights are NOT a penny.
Cordial cherries that are a penny are ONLY the 5 piece.
Chateau is the brand of nut clusters that ARE included. The DeMet's are NOT.
Most gift sets are NOT included. There is one $3 with a penguin on it that IS included.


Remember that most of the gift sets and some of the candy will be moved over to Valentine's Day and will not be included. PLEASE be kind and put anything back where you got it, if you decide not to buy it! That is only common courtesy!

So look for red "holiday" tags and other items that look like holiday. Also, trees, lights, and wrapping paper are not usually included. There may be additional exclusions!

Holiday plastics - should also be a penny. Ornament holders, wreath holders, and wrapping paper holders.

No new pennies at Dollar General tomorrow, but ...

As far as we know, there are no new "scheduled" pennies tomorrow at Dollar General.  You may want to check any Christmas though, that is if you can find it.

Christmas/Holiday has been at a quarter and it might penny ... although they are saying it will not.  We have had other pennies when they have said that they won't penny too.
