Pennies are resetting to Full Price at Dollar General.

As of this morning, reports are coming in that MOST items that have recently pennied are going back to full price.  It was a nice 2 days for penny shopping, but now we have to wait and see what is next.

Will they penny next time for just a couple days, will they change their policy that pennies can  no longer be purchased, and will old pennies be reset too?  We really don't know what will happen yet.  There weren't supposed to be pennies this time - so we don't know how Dollar General will do things the next time things clearance out.

Dollar General Penny Haul - Nov 10.

Here is my penny haul from a handful of Dollar General stores yesterday.  Dollar General told their employees that nothing would penny ... but they did penny on Wednesday.

These categories with some exceptions:
Lawn and garden (excluding lg planters, grills, hoses, soil, and coolers)
Green dot home
White and yellow dot clothing and accessories (excluding jewelry)
Back  to school pens, pencils, highlighters, and erasable markers
Swim and summer toys (some summer toys remained full price)

We do NOT know if and when these items may be set back to full price.

New pennies at Dollar General today!

I'm sorry that I'm late in the day with this post, but I was busy today and actually got in a bit of shopping while I was out!   Now that I'm home, I can post.  (I don't how to post on my website from my phone.)

Anyway, it seems that all the 90% and 25¢ items that were clearanced actually DID penny today.  I can't say for a fact that they all pennied, but everything I found except 1 pair of yellow dot (or white dot, can't remember) shoes pennied for me.  Here is a quick video of what I got today.  The audio is poor.  I'm sorry about that.

Dollar General Haul from 11/8 - pennies, quarter, and 90% clearance!

I know rumor has been going around for a while now, but Dollar General has for the most part decided to stop items from going to a penny.  Last week, however, the Hostess Halloween cakes and the Happy Drinks DID penny.  I found some of the Halloween cakes yesterday and they are still a penny!

Dollar General also has said that they will put the clearance items back to full price after giving the stores 7 days to send the items back.  They did not reset as of yesterday.  There are new items being put out though that might confuse you.  Check dates on clothing.  Anything with a 17 in it would be new.

From this point on, if you find items that you think are 90% or 25¢, ask for a price check.  That's what I did.

As we all know, penny shopping is changing right now.  Dollar General is asking it's stores to send all clearance items back once they hit the lowest threshold.  So instead of pennying, they will go back to full price.  We still may see a few pennies here and there, like we did last week though.
