As I had said in the video that I put up last night, things are changing. Seasonal clearance will no longer penny. But it seems that we still did get a few pennies. All 90% and 25¢ clearance is still the same today and should revert back to full price by next Tuesday. So, if you were waiting for pennies here they are, but you will need to grab the other clearance while you can at clearance prices.

Thank you everyone for your patience. Even employees weren't sure what was happening today. So we were a little wrong and a little right ...but I always find it best to err on the side of caution. I would hate to see someone loading up carts and then having to put everything back.

No new pennies at Dollar General... ever!

Oh no!  This is the day we were hoping would never come!  But it looks to be true!  Last night, we were unsure what exactly was going to happen with the new recovery process that Dollar General has put into place.

This morning, it seems, that all clearance that has hit 90% or 25¢ has stayed there.  The stores were told that prices will go back to full price after the process is complete.  At this point, we are thinking that means the week that they have to send the merchandise back.

So we SHOULD have through Monday to find any seasonal items from last weeks lists at those prices.  If you find any of these items after that, they should be reset to full price.  So if you are waiting on the pennies, wait no more!  Get out there and get the clearance!

Will there be new pennies tomorrow at Dollar General?

Dollar General is starting a new recovery process that requires the stores to send back a lot of the seasonal merchandise. We do not know for certain how this will affect penny shopping. We do know that the items are supposed to go back to full price in a week, but will they actually penny?

I think tomorrow will tell us a lot about the future of penny shopping at Dollar General.
